ZKT makes a variety of firearms gear and supplies, best known for making deluxe armored firearms display cases and gun safes. This year they came out with individual gun cleaning wet wipes. These single-use packets contain a cloth wipe impregnated with proprietary cleaning, lubricating, and protectant solvents.

I cleaned a dirty bolt carrier group (BCG) with a single wipe. I didn’t have to use any brushes or additional CLP. All I used was a single half-sheet of paper towel to dry it off and catch any leftover fowling and was surprised at how little was left. The wipe’s fibers really did a great job capturing the dirt, dust, and carbon.

I gave it a final wipe-down to leave a light coat of lube on the metal. When I picked up the BCG a few minutes later to put it back into my rifle, I discovered it was completely dry but I could feel a light dry coat had been left on the metal.

I set to test the rifle at the range and along the way, I got a message from the marketing director of ZKT. By sheer coincidence, he was in San Francisco to attend a 3-gun match. I met up with him in person at my local range and got had a chat with him about this new product. He told me he could clean a complete rifle with just one wipe.
